The Anahi Mine in Bolivia is the major world producer of Ametrine. The mine first became famous in the seventeenth century when a Spanish conquistador received a dowry upon marrying a princess named Anahi from the Ayoreos tribe. Ametrine was introduced to Europe through the conquistador's gift to the Spanish queen.
The astrological sign of Ametrine is LIBRA and the gem qualities of Ametrine have been used as ornamental objects for thousands of years.
Ametrine is said to have all of the metaphysical properties of both Amethyst and Citrine combined, as well as it's own unique properties: aids in meditation, relieves tension, and disperses negativity.
